Happy new month everyone β€. This topic has been on my heart for a while, not sure why but maybe because the world has set a certain standard of what valentines day should be like; a glamorous date that ends in the bedroom, not in all cases but in most, and lot of people end up regretting their decisions on the 15th of February. It can happen to anyone, christian or not, so its up to you to guard yourself from compromising situations. Do check out how to avoid sexual compromise in a relationhip.
If you love God and you’re actively pursuing a relationship with Him, for you, sex is not an option. You still want to surprise your partner and let them know how much they mean to you without falling into the trap of sin. Also, maybe you don’t have a lot of money to do something really nice for your love, there’s hope to make that day memorable. We can still have fun without lowering our standards as children of God. This post is just to inspire you by suggesting a few ideas. You could also improve on them;
Visit an orphanage together: Love is about giving and caring, sometimes your happiness lies in the light of the eyes of the one you show kindness to. Try something new together, you’ll understand love on a different level. Remember;
for God so loved the world that he gave..
Attend a Christian valentine event/concert together : Look around, google events happening in your city, read reviews. There’s this amazing one I know of, called CREAM- Christ + Rules + Everything + Around +Me. Taking place on the 14th of February 2018 at De Edge hotel, opposite Mandela car wash PortHarcourt city, Nigeria. Guys! you’re invited lol. Will update you if it’ll be holding in other cities in Nigeria. Find a fun event that’ll help you both grow in your relationship.
Cook and eat together : Preferably lunch or breakfast. It’ll be fun especially when y’all don’t do it often or hardly see each other. Y’all can watch a movie afterwards. No late nights to avoid unnecessary temptation, even during the day purposely avoid anything or anyone suggesting lust.
Exchange gifts of sentimental value: Especially when you don’t have much, what’s that thing he/she is going to keep forever ? E.g a charm bracelet, a jar filled with short write ups of things you love about him/her. Be creative, but it must be meaningful. You could visit a new place together, take pictures and just disturb social media. Just kidding, but not really.
Go on a nice dinner: Dress up, have fun, take pictures and go home. Don’t go back in to see what her apartment looks like at night. Uncle you’ll see it tomorrow π
Visit an older couple you both admire: The rules above apply π. Get them a gift, don’t just go and eat free food. Make plans with them ahead of time.
Write a love letter: Write an awfully long letter out of the sincerity of your heart. Accompanied with chocolates, wine, flowers. Read the letter to them. It’ll be more romantic. Frame her favourite quote, bible verse or phrase
Do a video for them : Tell your story with visuals if y’all are not together, you may choose to post it on social media, depending on the terms of your relationship. Go out, go bowling, visit an amusement park, make funny videos. Create beautiful memories and magic.
Plan a group date picnic/photoshoot: Gather all your godly friends in relationships, plan a venue, food, music, games. Keep it simple, godly and sweet
I hope you found this post helpful. Which of these are you willing to try? Kindly share below if you have any ideas for valentines day! Thank you for reading π

Great, great, great ideas.
I’ve always loved simple and inexpensive gifts with personal touches as opposed to elaborate gifts.
Handwritten love letters? Chocolate? Cute notes? Count me in for sure. Lol.
