The walk with God is easy when the blessings are in abundance . We call God our father but deep down most of us treat him like a blessing machine; and we say our ‘thank you’ prayers because everything is going great. When he needs to get you to a whole new level, He knows values would have to be taught and this is where the problem comes in.
We begin to murmur:
1. God what did I ever do? I pay my tithe, I pay my offering.
Trust me paying your tithe or not doesn’t guarantee an answer to this question.
2. I helped so and so persons
Quit it! There’s a blessing for that already.
But the real deal is when you recognize that the One who has promised to take care of you hasn’t forgotten. He’s letting you go through the process. I don’t want a blessing that won’t make me thank God everyday or a blessing that makes me feel entitled. Your prayers dI’d not get you half to where you are. Grace did. We need to learn value as Christians, how well do you appreciate the process.
Does the process bring out the ingratitude that has been there waiting to burst when you feel God is unappreciative of your efforts? Efforts being that; I clean the church, helped the beggar by the road side, gave the homeless lady clothes etc, or do you sit and tell him thank you. Because you know he made it clear he would never abandon you. He needs you to gather strength and momentum but above all LEARN. Learn trust, learn faith and understand his love and his unfailing grace and pure mercy that comes from a place so unexplainable and even the words give no exact explanation to the level of overflow. Know this; there are times in our lives when we need to be taught by our heavenly father just as our earthly parents. Most times we as Christians fail in the value class which is supposed to make us ready in waiting for the new phase and all we see is the dark cloud of God being unfair and unkind to us.
So I ask you again… How appreciative are you of the process?
