Questions About Natural Hair

So I decided to do a quick Question and Answer session. Most questions came from my facebook page. These are some of the questions that were asked and answers that could help. Enjoy ๐Ÿท

  • Question

What do I do about super tough hair, I have my coconut oil though?

From the way the question was framed, I will like to assume that she uses only coconut oil for your her hair. Well the only secret to soft hair is keeping your hair moisturized. And coconut oil cannot do the job. To keep your hair moisturized, you will need a leave in conditioner, a deep conditioner ( hair mayonnaise) water and natural oils (olive oil, almond oil, castor oil, coconut oil). Your leave in conditioner should always come before your natural oils.

  • Question

I desire long, full and healthy hair. What do I do?

If you desire all these, there are a lot of things to do if you desire this. Moisturizing can never be overemphasized, deep condition your hair regularly, eat healthy and do protective hairstyles.

  • Question

How do I stop breakage?

Breakage is almost unavoidable but when it becomes a consistent thing, then there is trouble. It could be that you’re committing a few natural hair sins which include; applying too much heat, over manipulation or worse not moisturizing your hair. Remember dry hair is prone to breakage. If the weather condition in your city is harsh, then do protective hairstyles. Start being deliberate about taking care of your hair and breakage will be reduced to a large extent

  • Question

How do I keep my hair glowing like yours?

I deep condition my hair a lot, and protective hairstyles always help. Don’t also forget the magic of Shea butter.

  • Question

I blew dried my hair once , it’s painful to make, and how can I I make it look like yours?

I blew dry my hair once and I had heat damage from doing that. When you do this too often, your hair will loose it’s natural curl and I’m sure you don’t want that happening. Try as much as possible to avoid applying heat on your hair.

I can relate to painful hair when getting it done. To minimize the pain, ensure your hair is completely detangled and moisturized. The secret to my curls is deep conditioning, find a good deep conditioner ( I recommend Eden hair masque or Olive).

I really do this was helpful. If you have any questions or contributions, don’t hesitate to leave a comment below.
